Did you know 5 June is Timor-Leste’s National Day of the Sea?
In 2026 we will proudly celebrate our first-ever National Day of the Sea! This momentous day recognises the ocean’s vital role in our nation’s sustainable development – supporting our environment, economy and the unique way of life of the Timorese people.
Last October, the Government of Timor-Leste established this special day in support of the Blue Economy Policy and Action Plan 2025–2035, helping to align our local efforts with global initiatives.
Join us in valuing, protecting and sustaining our beautiful seas for generations to come.
